About Moeller

The Moeller

Moeller Manufacturing was established in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan from the humble beginnings of Heinz and Adriene Moellering, who had a dream of creating a secure future for their family.

Moeller grew from its original 1,000-square-foot facility to its first substantial manufacturing facility.

Moeller began making parts for the aerospace industry for Pratt & Whitney and Aeroquip.

Heinz and Adriene’s oldest son moved the aerospace parts portion of the business to Harbor Springs, Michigan.

Moeller Manufacturing developed into a multifaceted business focused on both aerospace and tool & die components. These distinct product specialties were divided into their own locations, and another new facility dedicated to aerospace was established in Wixom, Michigan to support industry growth. At this time, Moeller invented its first self-locking device to eliminate lockwire, called Click-Loc®.

Click-Loc® made its maiden voyage on a British Airways Boeing 777.

Moeller Aerospace made a large capital investment in milling machinery to support the growing power generation industry.

Moeller Aerospace mastered the art of machining titanium aluminide in a production environment.

The Moeller Aerospace Wixom location acquired a second plant next door to the existing facility that was used to implement work cells and lean strategy. The new plant was named Wixom South, and the existing plant was named Wixom North.

Moeller Aerospace doubled the size of its Harbor Springs facility.

Moeller Aerospace completed a 30,000-square-foot expansion of its Wixom facility.

Moeller Aerospace was purchased by AE Industrial Partners.

Moeller Aerospace completed a 72,000-square-foot expansion of its Harbor Springs facility.

Vertical integration was completed to recognize the Harbor Springs plant as the Airfoil Center of Excellence and the Wixom plants as the Complex Components and Click-Loc® Technology Center.
