Story
1949
Moeller Manufacturing was established in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan from the humble beginnings of Heinz and Adriene Moellering, who had a dream of creating a secure future for their family.
1959
Moeller grew from its original 1,000-square-foot facility to its first substantial manufacturing facility.
1962
Moeller began making parts for the aerospace industry for Pratt & Whitney and Aeroquip.
1979
Heinz and Adriene’s oldest son moved the aerospace parts portion of the business to Harbor Springs, Michigan.
1992
Moeller Manufacturing developed into a multifaceted business focused on both aerospace and tool & die components. These distinct product specialties were divided into their own locations, and another new facility dedicated to aerospace was established in Wixom, Michigan to support industry growth. At this time, Moeller invented its first self-locking device to eliminate lockwire, called Click-Loc®.
1995
Click-Loc® made its maiden voyage on a British Airways Boeing 777.
2000
Moeller Aerospace made a large capital investment in milling machinery to support the growing power generation industry.
2008
Moeller Aerospace mastered the art of machining titanium aluminide in a production environment.
2011
The Moeller Aerospace Wixom location acquired a second plant next door to the existing facility that was used to implement work cells and lean strategy. The new plant was named Wixom South, and the existing plant was named Wixom North.
2013
Moeller Aerospace doubled the size of its Harbor Springs facility.
2015
Moeller Aerospace completed a 30,000-square-foot expansion of its Wixom facility.
2016
Moeller Aerospace was purchased by AE Industrial Partners.
2018
Moeller Aerospace completed a 72,000-square-foot expansion of its Harbor Springs facility.
2021
Vertical integration was completed to recognize the Harbor Springs plant as the Airfoil Center of Excellence and the Wixom plants as the Complex Components and Click-Loc® Technology Center.
