Material Machining for Aerospace & Industrial Applications

Material Machining for Aerospace & Industrial Applications

We specialize in the machining of forgings, castings, bar-stock, and additive raw materials made from basic metals such as stainless steel and aluminum to exotic, high-temperature-resistant materials like titanium, titanium aluminide, Inconel, and other nickel-cobalt superalloys.

  • Inconel

Inconel is an austenitic, nickel-chromium-based superalloy resistant to corrosion and able to withstand intense temperatures and pressures.

  • Rene

Rene provides great strength at elevated temperatures and pressures and is in the family of nickel-based superalloys.

  • Titanium Aluminide

Titanium aluminide is an alloy of lower density than nickel-based alloys with high mechanical strength and good oxidation resistance.

Titanium Aluminide Machining Expertise

Titanium Aluminide Machining Expertise

We rival any company in the world with respect to titanium aluminide machining experience. We have been machining titanium aluminide in high-volume production since 2007, with several years of development work prior to that. We are considered a prime machining source for the titanium aluminide turbine blades that are helping to make new-generation aircraft engines lighter, cleaner, and more fuel-efficient.

We have devoted thousands of hours of engineering and machine time to perfecting a variety of techniques for machining titanium aluminide, including milling, turning, grinding, drilling, EDM, and polishing.

Moeller has:

  • Machined TiAl since 2007
  • Delivered over 125,000 TiAl blades
  • Processed and machined 14 different TiAl part numbers
